89 Injector Replacement
-there is a great sticky and another very informative thread, search, they were very helpful
-get the EGR, fuel regulator, and maybe even the thermostat while you are there
-no need to take the throttle body off the plenum unless you want easier access to clean
-leave time to clean the plenum and the runners (if you take them off)
-get one of the D40 torx wrenches like the guy in the video has. I just have the 1/2" socket end torx and it was a bitch to fit in some of the tight places
-i actually found the left side (driver) runner easier to remove, take a look at all the bolts and make your own decision
-i think you can do it just loosening the runner, you don't have to take it all the way off, just follow the procedure of taking the fuel rail assembly apart, mine came apart real easy and its a lot easier to maneuver in pieces
-it was a bitch to get wrenches in to take off the fuel line to fuel rail connection, i found it convenient to take off the air unit that gets in the way, just two easily accessible bolts hold it down, you have to pry off the plastic cover to get to one of the bolts
-last, don't drop the runner to plenum bolts while you are taking them out (you will find another thread of mine asking where you can buy these bolts, dammit, spent 45 minutes sticking my fingers everywhere and couldn't find the bitch)
Each time I have had the fuel rail off our 86 and my 89 Formula 350 I have attempted to take apart the fuel rail. A quick near hernia inducing tug with no movement told me to forget about it.
