Default Basic LT-1 NOS questions.

I'm considering putting a 100 HP wet shot on my 95 vette. It's a daily driver, so I really don't want to dive into the motor, but would like the extra power sometimes.

I'm wondering what else I need to go along with it... do I need colder plugs, (Has NGK TR55's now) Will the stock fuel pump be up to the task of a 100 HP wet shot? (Rest of the engine is stock)

I would plan on putting an MSD box and window switch in also in the near future.

Thxs

I have a dry shot on mine. The kit came with an auxillary fuel pump and works directly off the TPS. I used the stock plugs, however did install a MSD Digital6 Ignition. I use the MSD to retard the timing when the nitrous is used. For anything above 150, I would recommend the colder plugs, but for a "little" 100 shot you should be fine.

It would be a good idea, but not a necessity, to change the fuel pump to a better one. I suggest the Walbro GSS307 or 340 pump. Plug and play with the stock pump and takes 30-45 minutes to swap in.

Other than that, a very strong suggestion to go ahead and get a window switch when you do the initial installation. It will save you more than any other safety control IMO.

The plugs, with a 100 shot, are probably best at a 1 step colder. The TR-6's are a very good option for you.

Look to the NX or TNT wet kits. Very easy to install and are great quality for the cash.

I agree on the window switch.. really don't want to hit the revlimiter on the juice :) In what increments in the window switch adjustable and what would the recommended range be for a stock car?

I was looking at a Compucar kit that another member had for sale... single fogger nozzle that goes behind the MAF.

Thanks for the help guys.

I use the Mallory window switch. Runs about $95 but it is infinitely adjustable in 100 rpm increments. best bet for a stock setup would be 3200 rpm on, 5600 off. That gives you plenty of room up top and a little extra down low. You do not want to set it below 3000 rpm ever. You could set the upper bounds closer to your rev limiter depending on how you feel about it. 100 RPM is not going to make much difference though.
