Default Sparco Harness Bar

I found a great deal on a Sparco Harness Bar for my c4 in a local shop. My intension of getting it is to help stiffen up the chassis, really not worried about adding aftermarket belts. Does anyone have any experience with the Sparco bar, is it decent, will it help stiffen things up a bit, does if fit well? Thanks for any info.

Hopefully someone else will chime in, but I can tell you my 6 point *welded* rollbar, with permanent sidebars, did NOT improve my chassis stiffness noticeable on my 93 vert. I was disappointed.

The key, I believe, is connecting the windshield to the rear 'hoop' of the car.

this is a picture of what I had done. My main purpose was to get a 6 point cage in there so local tracks would let me run.

You don't know how disappointed I am to hear that, specially since I was considering a 4pt bolt in cage for my coup. Was thinking that a harness bar would help and took for granted that a 4pt would help a lot. Thanks for the input.

All the vert guys who do hardtop talk abt a night and day difference, that's why I believe the weak link (for me) is the windshield frame not being connected to my hoop.

But yeah...I was so up for chassis stiffness that I didn't want swingout sidebars...prob didn't make a diff

Don't know about the bolt in roll bar, I had a custom installed 4pt roll bar installed in my coupe. Local shop did it and it was relatively inexpensive, best thing it tightened up the body flex. Can't wait until I have the time and he has room on his schedule to do the rest of the cage.

Well, I have the vert. Mine is welded to the frame in 6 places. 2 in the front, 2 behiind the seats and 2 by the speakers (90 degree bends to meet up w the frame).

I can tell you it didn't do much of anything. I didn't spend a lot either and it looks decent wo butchering the inside.

Im pretty skinny, but if I was bigger, the sidebars wld be a problem
