Max Horsepower thru a Richmond 6 speed ??
Whats the MAX horsepower you can safely run through a Richmond 6 speed ? I've got a real stout small block, and wanted to know if I should look elese where for a transmission that will take a beating
Thanks,

It depends on how hard you can spin the engine. Transmissions are generally rated for torque..
650-700 at Speedweek in Wendover UT in a nitrous Camaro vaporized one on 6 inch wide tires and no bite.. sooooo I do have to say it was hard to tell if the gears failed or the shift forks as it looked like a grenade went off inside. At 237 mph it went bang and also kicked it from 6'th to 4'th for a very special moment in the engine at the same time. Data log showed 11500 or so rpm before the driver could clutch the car and shut it down.. Pretty cool car though a 5 liter SBC about 630 off the bottle and 920 on it with 9800 rpm gear changes... Picture 2 10 lb bottles with a nitrogen pusher and everything is empty in 5 miles..LOL If you are going for a world speed record you leave very little on the table for another day.
