I pulled my engine (She Blew) and found out the block was a roller block. I know this means the lifter have rollers on the bottom and it accepts a roller cam. Is this a good block? Any tech articles about roller blocks? What are it's advantages. Etc... Etc... I can't seem to find anything on them on Yahoo or Google.
They're good blocks... Vettes came with hydraulic roller camshafts 1987-up. Roller cams allow faster ramp rates, higher lift, and more duration as well as better driving characteristics and less frictional losses. But, I would be surprised if the guy that built your engine actually installed a roller cam in it... When you rebuild and the block's in good enough shape, I would certainly recommend going to a roller cam.

Thanks for the info!! :) That explains a lot. When I got my '84 it had L98 heads. So putting 2+2 together... I think someone dropped in a later model Vette engine into mine.
Look into replacing the Cam bearings, install a higher performance cam*theres plenty of tech on cams on this forum already, some i'm not going to go into detail*, look into a decent set of valve springs *don't go too much spring, or you'll chew the cam apart*, roller rockers, and depending on how many rpms your wishing to pull, rev cits *afr makes them, crane, etc.* to reduce valve float. If you can afford to, i would highly suggest having the block magnafluxed and tanked to check for cracks, weaknesses, etc. Have fun
