I have to replace the front Y/wcats and the catalytic converter. With all the products out there, how do I know which ones are the best to use on my 1989 5.7 6 speed stock corvette?
I presume they are made to a standard (for emissions reduction) so you should be able to compare each one against the standard. Their product brochures should detail their specs.

Define what you mean by best! If you're looking for factory-replacement, there are 50-state legal converters you might want to look at. If you're looking for best power with decent-to-possibly-legal emissions control, then Magnaflow (Car-sound.com) has my vote for best value/price. Random Tech is considered THE BEST flowing cat made but you have to PAY for it.
Do you have emissions or sniffer testing in your area? Is your goal best power gain?
