I just had the egr valve and solenoid replaced, along with haveing the intake manifold taken off and completely cleaned.. I am still getting the sevice engine soon warning light With a code 32. Is there a way to reset the code besides unhooking the battery. Or could there be something eles to cause this code 32, beside what i have already had done to the car.. Any help or info would be greatly Appreciated..
You can pull the ECM fuse or use my method of opening the connection in the orange wire near the battery that powers the ECM.
If the code comes back verify that the vacuum lines involved are good; if so, replace the temp sensor in the EGR pipe.
Of course you could energize the EGR solenoid at idle and measure the voltage at the EGR temp sw. It should go from +5Vdc to 0Vdc when it heats up; this is the EGR feedback signal to the ECM.
Is the SES comming On at idle or after you're on the highway for a few minutes?
Since it doesn't come on at idle just after startup you know the EGR is not stuck open and the EGR temp sw is not closed (grounded).
First check all vacuum lines. If ok, run the test above to see if the temp sw closes when the EGR is forced open, allowing exhaust gasses to flow into the intake manifold.
