Default Empty N20 Bottle Safe?

Just saw some pics of a car that had a nitrous bottle explode inside. My question is-is it safe to keep an empty bottle inside the car? The car is parked inside a garage and put away until I come back from deployment.

Even a full bottle is safe unless you crush it or heat it with a torch. Most bottle explosions occur from improperly wired bottle heaters.

Yes, no safety risk at all assuming is is properly anchored

Bottle explosions typically happen when the bottle pressure gets too high (ie: bottle is too hot) AND the relief valve fails. Those two things happening together is extremely rare.

Ditto. Never had one pop even when my black car with black interior sat in the sun. Just don't do anything stupid and it will be just fine. As said before, there is a pressure relief valve. Basically a foil that has a predetermined breaking pressure. You should also vent that outside the car if its in a vettes passenger compartment. There are literally millions of compressed air bottles funtioning fine all around the world in all kinds of environments, you're good!
