As for tuning does the ECM really work? Where do I get a decent ECM? I was thinking of the one from DCS along with their fuel pressure fuel pressure assembly.

Renegade will have to wait. But I agree headers, tuning for now and hopefully a set of 1.6 RR's for spring. Next winter a bit moe.
No problem... I still have that stuff. Wrong time of year to put it up in the FS section.

DCS doesn't offer a ecm that I know of. They do offer the Ham board though. Right now you don't need a ecm so don't worry about it. If you need something down the road I would recommend dynamicefi's ecm.

Save your money for now on the intake. At this point there is no proof that the renagade puts out that much power over a ported intake on the 350 block. On that note port the living heck out of your intake. When you think your done....do it somemore. CFI-EFI is the guy to talk to about that along with TOM400CFI.

Save your money on those aftermarket chips as well. I put one in and LOST more than 30hp

Save your money on the fuel pump...right now you don't need it, save your money on the larger tb as well.

So your down to
exhaust, make it dual if you can
Do the cold air mod...which is free
Port the snot out of your intake.....free, except labor
Make your fuel pressure regualtor adjustable.... again free
Throw in a 2500 stall. $500 or less, depending on who's you use. (talk to PeteK), I use his
Set of 1.6rr's if you want.

There you got less than $1k into, and you just woke that car up...

For what its worth ..both qws and I have Lt1 exhaust on ur Vettes. I have stock LT1 exhaust front to back and he has headers and LT1 cat back. It was the cheapest mod I have done and I don't regret it at all. Lt1 exhaust is dual 2 3/4 and the manifolds are basically shorties.
Here is my thread.

I expected to put on 2 3/4 or 3" exhaust. I was going to have it made, as I've been having a hard time finding a "kit". I thought the '84 had a different exhaust than the others? Can I buy an LT1 "kit" and bolt it on?

So these mods for the cold air and fuel pressure regulator, where do I find more info?

Honestly, I've been speaking with a local Corvette guy who said he'll build me a custom cold air intake for $250. Not bad I thought, but I' a do it yourself type of guy as long as I have some reference when doing something new. Heck, saving $250 means I can buy RR's!!!

Keep giving me ideas QWS and I'll save enough to buy more from you!

look at the link.. it bolts right up with the right hangers.
I went with the LT1 manifolds and bullet cats. Headers can be connected to the LT1 cat back easily.

I'll take your $250 bucks!

Look inside your hood down towards the nose. See a oval hole?
Now, match that up with the radiator shroud... mark it and cut! thats it.
I can't post pics right now but maybe someone else could.

Chaos is absolutely right the LT-1 bolts right up. Even though ours (84) is a bit different the path is the same. Very easy to mod.

Corvette central has some dual exhaust kits along with Mid-America. Dual exhaust kit is about $300 for stainless

No I feel like an idiot... I noticed that mod was done to someone else's car, and I assumed I had the wrong rad plastic cover on mine or something... hahaha! Thanks! Now I almost owe you $250...

I saw the dual systems at CC, I think I'm going to have it custom bent locally.

You guys rock! Thank you for the help and support. I'm sure I'm not done yet though!

Be careful with that "cold air" mod. It looks like a logical mod, but opening up this area will put lots of crud and water into your air cleaner. It may be okay for a drag strip car, but for a daily driver you're asking for trouble. Since these cars are "bottom breathers", this plenum in front of the radiator collects a lot of dirt! I believe the '83 prototype cars had this feature, but they decided this was a bad idea!

You can put a waterproof mesh screen in at the airbox if you are worried. That's what they use on racecars.

I was thinking a mesh screen would be a good idea too. It won't stop the moisture, but I don't expect to drive the car too much.

BTW - The cold air mod was $275, exactly what you said to do and includes a K&N filter. I guess I can keep my $275 and K&N now! Thank you guys!

Crud...MAYBE. Water? I think not. When did water start flowing up hill? This concern over all, is a non-issue.

Nice, thanks for the pic sir. I was going to add weather stripping around the cutout as well.
