ever since i got it on my 1992 LT1 automatic, the RPMs go crazy when i gun it, like it will shoot up to 6000 rpms and then to 1000 and then it will just dive below 0. (wierd) and also my "service asr" light came up. I'm not sure if this is because of the chip that i put in and they're having a hard time co-oping with one another or what! anyone ever have this problem or something to relate to this??

If you are talking abou the stock tach, with the MSD you have to bypass the tach filter on the bell housing behind the distributor on the driver's side. The MSD manual should have instructions about this and it is also on the MSD web site. I had the same problem with my MSD Digital 6 Plus. When the tach hit 4K, it would drop like a rock to zero. Very eratic.

Just wiring in a difficult to reach place. See if someone has a better place to put the jumper. If you want to look, it looks like rectangular ceramic resistor with a cllip on end.

The tach filter on a 92 LT1 is in front of the engine on the passenger side. Just follow the white lead from the coil, it will go into the harness, there's small cube, clip the wires leaving enough to reconnect later if needed. Splice the clipped leads going back to the coil and the tach will act normal, good luck,

Whenever my friend hooks up his MSD 6A to his 92 LT1 it acts like a rev limiter is kicking in at about 3000 rpms. Could this also be caused by the tach filter. I think his rpms are actually affected, not just his tach reading.

Mine's done that before, it was funny b/c that is when I first got my car and I raced a V6 camaro and he thought he had something b/c I couldn't get it to go any higher than 3K rpms.
And yes the tach filter is just a little box, cut the wire on it and tape the ends of them. It happened to mine too, and it did flip on my service ASR code too.

Thanx for all your advice...
o.k. now i removed the filter completely disconnecting the black wire and both white wires. now i just splice the two white wires and just leave the black one dangling there??
and my turning signals aint working now, is this all from the same thing or what???
thanx
Leave the filter off, just splice the 2 white wires from the coil back together.

It won;t effect the turn signals. Check your fuses. If you have been messing with the harness without disconnecting your battery, it may have blown a fuse.
