i just got my 85 vette ,i got the motor and tranny out to rebuilt. The problem is the entire wiring harness has been mickey mouse. I can not even get the main connectors off. Anyone know where i can get a new motor harness?
Used only
Now would be a good time to convert to the 86 -89 TPI computer and wiring ; cheaper for parts in the long run
The one year only MAF burn off setup in the '85 runs $150+ used ( if you can find one).
The later cars use $15 relays
Check out the For Sale dept for someone parting out a 86 - 89 car http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-p...ale-wanted-55/
I'd never buy used if new is available and for $500, the harness must be extremely hard to come by. The information sensors used to for fueling use resistance to control voltage drop. Copper wiring, no matter how good the insulation (and sometimes it wasn't so great from the Factory), will deterioate with age adding resistance to the circuit which will skew sensor values.
