SHIFTING

Check this, but only if you know that you haven't mashed third gear from a botched speed shift, which often mangles the engagement dogs of that gear:
1) Check clutch master cylinder fluid level and fluid condition. Top off as needed, GM has a specific fluid, only use brake fluid in a pinch. If fluid level is low check for leaks at the clutch master and slave cylinder. When fluid level is low it will keep you from fully disengaging clutch, third gear suffers the most from a poor shift quality when clutch is dragging.
2) Check your cags. for interference.
Whatever you do, you are better off skipping the shift into third gear until you get the problem fixed.
