How the heck do you get the spark plugs out on the driver's side?  :mad I have lossened the ASR and have no eartly idea how to get to em???? Got the passenger side with no major problems, but the driver's    Survived the fuel filter...that was a lot of fun...I need help on this one ..Corvette Expo is coming up on Saturday in Knoxville TN!!!!!!!!!
Which ones are you having problems with? All of them on the drivers side, or some specific ones? If you are trying to use a ratched on your spark plug socket try using an open end wrench. It should take a 3/4 or 7/8ths wrench depending on the socket.
Should be able to get the #5, #7 with standard ratchet and standard plug socket. If leverage is your probelm (can't get it to budge and can't get a good push on the ratchet handle), find a jack handle or any stout metal rod with hollow end that will slide over the end of your ratchet and use that as a rachtet handle extension to get some good torque, BUT make sure you keep your other hand down on the plug socket to keep it straight during the torque so as not to seize it up. I use the jack cranking handle from the original equipment jack in my '94 dakota pickup truck-- works like it was made for the job, slides nicely over the end of my ratchet handle and it's about 24" long so it helps make my standard ratchet into "Mighty Ratchet"! Like I said, just gotta be sure to counter the socket with your free hand. Sometimes that's a challenge: I've found that being experienced with the party game "Twister", along with a solid working vocabulary of profanity helps with the task.
As for easing up access to the back two on the driver side (#5, #7) you've already moved the ASR aside... now take the flexible EGR supply hose and pull it up out of the way, try wedging it gently on top of the brake master cylinder's vacuum supply line. Might hear some hiss of brake vacuum escape if you're not careful, but it should re-vac next start-up. You do have to get that EGR hose out of the way this way to get the standard ratchet and standard plug socket to work on them. trying to use universal jointed ratchet extensions is tough-- like trying to make love to your lady with a limpy, IMHO.
I've always felt that the back two on the passenger side were the toughest ones (#6, #8)...
