Power Brake Booster.
I wanted to thank 'Lilsk8crker' or something like that, for the excellent post with pics awhile back on removing the power brake booster. I'm halfway done and he's right, you ain't removing the booster, without removing the master cylinder. The FSM says you can do it, but I couldn't! There is just no room for it to go.
I even loosened the ASR bracket to move the whole thing over, but no dice.
And I'd like to thank the GM assembly line worker, who installed the metal bracket. backing the power brake booster under the dash. The holes were misaligned, leaving the metal part, partially blocking the two holes at the top, which made it a real beyatch to pull. I couldn't install the new booster, because the protruding metal stopped the one stud from going through. Time for the Drill and a drill bit and I had to shave away the metal at the top of the holes, but the new one is in.
Now to hook it up!
