96 c-4 too low in front . There seems to be 1 spacer between the frame & the rubber on top of the spring . If I add another 1/8" spacer , how much will it raise the car ? 1:1 , 1: 2 ratio ? Thanks , Roy
1:1. If you think how it works, the car sits on the top of the spring. If you put a 1/8" spacer between the spring and the car, the car goes up 1/8". I'll trade springs with you. Mine is too high and I can't do anything else to lower it.
Thinking about it , the ends of the spring are not where the tire sits on the ground , so there is some ratio involved . I'm afraid its going to be trial & error . Is it possible to shim the ends of the leaf spring ? The seat should be adjustable . Just confused as usual .

I think the 96 can be adjusted on the ends with a bolt. My 84 just has rubber pads.

Roy, this is an unusual statement. Normally the C4s are high. Even if you take all shims out, there will be space between the tire and the fender/hood.
I don't know , just bought car . Car looks great , but needs to be drivable on the streets . I measure 4 1/2" from bottom of spoiler lip to the ground , where other c-4's seem to be about 5 1/2" .
There is no adjustable spring in 96 using bolts. They are the same as all the other years. You can put a thicker pad back in the spring ends. I bought a used spring (1990 Z51)) from a forum member and it had the pads cut down on the ends and in the middle. I put it in my 96 and the car sits really low but it also added some negative camber which I want on the track.

Thats sounds spot on. My 96 Z51 is around 4 to 4.5in from the bottom of the spoiler to the ground...
Speed bumps & steep driveways bother me . I like lowered cars , but have learned that enough clearance is important(spoiler lip shows too many scrapes) . Been scraping oil pans , exhausts & spoilers for many years . I put 1/4" spacers on top of the spring mount & it looks to have raised car about 1/2" . Working on the alignment now . Then it's stock quieter mufflers . I'm too old to play boy racer anymore !Anyone need "muffler eliminator pipes & tips " ? Adds 50 hp! Roy
I've got the same problem. To pass the car inspection where I live, no metal pieces/pieces of the frame can be lower than 11cm. Mine is sitting right around 9cm right now. Any suggestions? Thank you!
I made a 1/4" shim with slots to slide in between the top of the spring & the frame of car . Disconnect shocks , height sensors , made a plate with threaded rods to pull spring down slightly(after loosening spring clamps) , slipped in spacers , put everything back . Aligned after ride around the block to settle everything . Enjoy not hitting every speed hump/bump.
