Cam in More Performance 396?

Cam in More Performance 396?
What cam does More Performance use in there 396 LT-1 motor? They have regular camshaft, 494 hp, and a larger 532 hp? Anyone have one or the other or know the specs?

They usually use a custom grind unless the customer specifies something different which is pretty rare. You would have to call them to find out the specs, they are pretty liberal with the info. I called them to ask about the specs on the cam in their CNC LT4 top end package and they spent a good 30-40 minutes on the phone with me even though I told them that I was just looking for a cam and not the entire package. Give them a call, you won't regret it.

My old roommate's father had a 383 built by them and used a Crane 222/230 112lsp lift I think was in the 560s.

I don't have the specs in front of me, I'll have to find them...but I went with a Crane cam #109831, which I remember was pretty similar to their custom grind. You can look at the specs of that cam here...

One of the main reasons I didn't go with their custom grind was because they couldn't ensure me that it would be able to pass emissions.

The mild Cam that they use in their LT1 top-end kit is a custom grind Comp Cams 210/224 @ .050 w/112 LSA. I think the lift numbers are .534/.532 w/1.6 Roller Rockers. I believe the beefier Cam with this kit is the Crane 222/230.

I've got my '86 at More now. Mike is doing the entire 396 thing on it.
Are you going to be able to make it up here this year? We miss you at ODS.
