header problems guys. Alternator bracket problem

Anyone know how to beat it?

Jobuck, this is how I did mine:
ENSURE THE BELT IS NOT TIGHT DURING FABRICATION!!!
Cut the tube off the original manifold, and use old bolt and nut.
Cut the bracket in half, and bend the ends so that they are aligned.

Next, cut a piece of steel dowel or tube to length:

Tack weld it in place, remove it then weld it up. Paint it to your taste to prevent rust.
Finished product:

This is the easiest way to do it with Headman Elites. There was another way to do it using the old plug wire loom hold holes in the head, but that would require that the header flange to be cut, and I didn't want to do that.

i used this double bracket to eliminate alternator support:
Bracket upgrade
I've ran my car for eight years without the bracket and without problems. The LTx cars have an upper brace as jaa' described, as opposed to the pictures posted.
