Default Coolant Temperature Gauge sensor

1986 coupe
Stock L98

Coolant Temperature sender to the gauge. This is the sensor in the passenger side head.
I am going to change mine because the blade was bent and has developed a small crack while trying to bend it back into position.

My questions are:

Am i going to lose alot of coolant as soon as i unscrew this sensor from the head?

Also--do you suggest wrapping the threads of the new sensor with teflon tape before installation?

Appreciate any input

Thanks

Not much if you are fast but can always take the radiator cap off , drain some coolant from the radiator stopcock at bottom ( under radiator ,straight down from cap) to lower coolant level in block

Thanks for the info.

I read somewhere on here if you wrap the sensor with teflon tape it acts as an insulator and gives an incorrect reading to the dash? True or False?

With a cold engine---Without draining coolant from the rad--how much will spill from sensor location after removal?
Does it trickle out or stream out

Thanks Again
