It appears my sawblades are mounted/running in the wrong direction. Assuming the wheels and tires are directional, is there any risk of damage if
the wheels are mismounted, but the tires are in the right direction? Is it worth
paying to have all the tires remounted and wheels rotated to the correct position? For what it's worth, I have the LTPWS and would probably have to pay for someone's expertise to get everything remounted without damage to the sensors. :cry :cry :cry
Prices will be different wherever you go, but around here a dis-mount, mount and balance will be about $15 a wheel.
The LTPWS sensors aren't a big deal. You'll just have to show them where on the wheel to break the bead. The sensor is mounted opposite the valve stem (if the stem was at 0 degrees the sensor is at 180). So don't break the bead there :)
Having the wheels running in the wrong direction won't physically hurt anything but (to me anyway) it looks kinda silly.
It doesn't hurt anything. It just looks odd to another C4 owner (no one else would notice).
The wheel is designed to pull air from around the brakes. Due to the turbine shape, running backwards probably doesn't move any air at all. It might keep the brake dust off better.
Just don't post a picture on the forum, you'll get a couple hundred "Did you know your wheels are on backwards" instant messages.:D
The cost of the re-mount should fall back on them :yesnod: if there the 1's that mounted them wrong in the 1'st place. I would call them on it 1'st and  what they have 2 say about it. :seeya
Make sure the tires aren't mounted backwards also. You may have the tires on the wheels correctly and the wheels incorrect. This could damage your tires.
I just checked and the tires are mounted in the right direction :yesnod: but the wheels are on the wrong side :mad . Guess I'll have to live with the "different" look, until I need new tires :cry :conehead . I don't know if it's worth $80-100 just to be visually correct. Thanks for your replies!
Hey Bill.....I fixed mine.....the photo below is how my SawBlades were when I bought the car.......apparently "BoneHeadism" is catching at some of the fix it shops.
