So I was able to look at my car today(1986) and I had boughten a new door switch from the Chevrolet dealership near me since the current one is mechanically broken(the switch like freely moves back and forth)
So I unscrewed the little door panel piece where the switch and handle were, got all the screws, I could not how to figure out how to remove it without breaking it =\. I was able to kindle pull the top out but the bottom wouldn't come out or the part with the window washers. Any help as to how I remove it to replace my door switch.
You have to remove the door panel to replace the power door lock switch.
Are you serious?! Wow I remember when my camaro door switch needed replaced, pull out the little section for windows and lock, replaced, clipped it back in.
How hard is removing the whole door panel? Is it easy to take off if you're new to this? I don't want to break my car xD
It isn't difficult at all, just go slow. Removing some parts requires pressure in just the right direction and I was pretty rough with mine out of frustration and didn't break anything.
=\ I couldn't get the manual door lock lever thing off that rod it's connected to for the life of me, any advice as to how without breaking it?
Yes, it is just clipped on. The back of it has a couple of plastic tabs on it on the large end. Just pull it firmly at the large end and it will pop off. Don't force it as its plastic, but pull with a firm steady pressure. See photo below.
Don't worry if you break it, they are only $9 at Ecklers.

Thanks man! I'll have to try it again when it isn't going to snow tomorrow and cause a pain and hassle. My car is triple car covered haha. And that's good they are only 9 dollars, I BET YOU I'll break it

I've had mine off at least a dozen times and I never broke one. I have bent the 1/8" steel rod that it goes on to. Take your time and don't rush it. Also, I would not try to get it off when the weather is freezing cold. The low temps will make the plastic pretty brittle.

The only problem I had was I have like bigger fingers as a hand and couldn't like get my hand to behind it to maneuver it out so I could like pull on it, any like tips on how I could pull it out?

use a pick with a bent end. Doesnt have to be a snap-on set. Go to your local dollar store. I picked up a 4 piece pick and hook set and it served the purpose.

Okay, I bet you my dad has one laying around, I'll have to ask him.
Thank you!
