Default General questions for my current project

So, a little history to start with.

Interior:
Absolutely 00000 interior. No stereo, no carpet. I keep using the excuse that I might put in a roll cage, but that's an excuse. I'll get it done...eventually.
Trans:
700-R4. Blew out the bands and got it rebuilt. I won't touch transmissions for my life. Full Redline internals. It's pretty solid, but looking to do a swap for the 6-speed if i can swing the money for the trans, fly, bellhousing, center console and everything else that i need that will cost.....well, the rest of the car.
Rubber to road:
Caught a sweet deal on C6 Z06 rims and tires for 500 bucks. 285 on 19s in back and 265 18s on the front. BF's all around.
Engine:
This is the fun part. I'm in the middle of an engine swap. Brand new ZZ4 that was bored 30 over to a 355. Full exhaust from Magnaflo and Hooker long tubes. "Removable" cat (yeah, i know, iffy as far as the street goes). Edlebrock Performer cylinder heads. On top, I've put on the Edelbrock Pro Flo 2 system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv4v44S_WNc Here is an example of the system. The intake is a little to tall to put on a standard air filter, so we are running a custom setup to the original intake until I figure out what to do with the hood. Just a bit of advice, be careful with this system. The wiring harness that comes with the kit is made in Malaysia and tends to have....problems. Ohm out the ENTIRE HARNESS in accordance with the scat drawings that are provided. They apparently tend to swap a couple of wires to the O2 sensor. It WILL cause the distributor not to send spark. The injectors will pulse, but no spark. When I get the car started, I will post a video.

So, here are a few questions.
1) Who to get the interior from. I have a junk yard i can get the center console pieces, but I need carpet. I have a few places like Zip-corvette.com, but I was hoping someone had some experience with this.

2) What to do with the trans? Keep the 4 speed auto that works pretty well, or should I shell out for the 6 speed standard?

3) What do you think of the engine setup? Also, what should i do with the hood? I can get a scoop and modify it to fit on the hood, then cut a hole for a nice thick air filter. I can also get a whole new hood, and spend a **** ton of money. Or i can just keep the routing to the stock air filter in front. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

1) Wilcox is probably the best source for new carpet. Otherwise, there's at least one salvager (and others) selling used carpet sets in the C4Parts forum. Stick with mass-backed for better sound insulation.

2) Keep it. Get a Dana44 (which comes with ZF6's) if you can though. It's a stronger setup. And, it needs a specific C-beam IIRC.

3) If you were going to bore/build a motor, I would have gone 383 or larger. Greenwood makes the best add-on scoop I've seen. It's kindofa late transam look.
