My car is stuttering under HARD acceleration at the higher rpms.
Today I punched it in 1st, quickly shifted to 2nd, took second up to 4.0k rpms and it started stuttering, like it was lacking fuel or something. Then it continued to 5k.
IT doesn't happen all the time, just some times.
Could it be traction control or something? shutting down the fuel?
Re: Hickups in the upper RPM range...? (Marty McFly)
can you post a pic of where the opti is?
I have no clue. My manuals have yet to come in.
Follow the passenger side spark plug wires forward, you can see where they plug into the Opti-Spark Distributor. From driver side it's a challenge to even see the Opti with a clear line of sight much less put your hands on it, unless you take the alternator and air cond. compressor off.

As you suggested, it could be fuel flow. First, do you have any idea when the fuel filter was changed. A partially clogged fuel filter will show problems when high flow rates are required. This is cheap and pretty easy. Plus you will have a starting point for filter maintenance. Very important on fuel injected systems. Replaced mine right after I bought the car. Couldn't believe the yuk that came out of the filter after removal. Car even ran good.
Keep the faith.
