trying to remove mufflers...help..PIA
This has become a PIA :cuss . the mufflers are, i assume, either rusted to the rear pipe, or where the clamp was on, it has formed a groove and will not let the muffler come off...i am trying to get them off to install some mufflers elimators.
has any body ever ran into this problem, and what was done to solve it? please help.. i am at my wits end :crazy:

That situation is not uncommon. You can either use a tool to flare the pipe or make cuts along it's length to free the inner pipe. You could also cut off the mufffler and then work the ends out of the Y-pipe.

Only way to save both is to cut clamp off, heat 'em up red hot and tap the muffler off...Then you can form it over a big socket to get rid of the groove...Same for pipe...

When I put my catback back on .. i used stainless steel bolts :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: I had to drill out 3 bolts on the collector after the driver's side cat. :cry :cry
