Default Wheel paint!

I am looking to paint my aloy aftermarket wheels. I was wanting to hear from those with experience what is the tuffest system to use and does it need clear coated also? I am well aware of powder coating and realize it's advantages however I am only wanting to know about paint at this time.

Duplicolor has both whell paints and clearcoat, easy to use and low cost

Try the "Black Chrome", I just saw some wheels that had been done with it and they looked high dollar

There are some good wheel paints out there but if you plan on tracking the car the heat from the brakes will change the color of the paint. Just FYI.

If it is just street use then you should be fine.

I have painted some alloy wheels in the past with wheel paint found at AutoZone, & at they looked ok for awhile. I wound up having to redo them in a year or so. My last set I had powdercoated & they still look like new on the car I sold a neighbor.

Have a pic of your wheels? What about polishing them instead of painting?
