Are you a veteran automechanic too?
I think I read some of your older posts where you also worked in a custom performance shop and/ or a speed shop?
BR
You have a few years at it more than I do.
Been at it hard since 1983 when I was 14 years old.
Go karts, mini bikes, Briggs & Straton and Techomash 1 cyl motors before that and getting chased by the local police for riding them on the streets.
Again and again. lol

The fun of driving the car with the new mods always makes the pain of the install go away.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Something that can be hard to do after you turn any car into a pure track car. Especially with today's rising fuel prices.
Word is I am hearing is that pump gas is maybe going to $5.00 per gallon here in the midwest by mid summer. That is for only cheap 87 octane gas.
None of us really like running our C4's lower than 91 or 93 octane.
Especially with performance tuning and engine mods made.
What have you heard out on the west coast- California?
What style or brand shifter did you install in your 87 Vette before you took it out?
Take your Vette on a real long trip say 900 miles each way.
You will have even more fun driving it and exploring the USA.
I did that back in fall of 2008 with my 87 vert.
Lots of fun and memories.
For the wife back then too.
We were together not for long when we made the road trip to Her hometown Reston, Virginia.
Her 20th highschool reunion.
She was worried that we would not make it in time.
We did.
The hammer was down.
And my eagle eyes looking miles ahead always.
Drove 10 hours straight before we had to stop. Drove through Friday night into Saturday Morning.
19 hour trip one way I remember now too.
Made it in about 14 hours of driving time on the road
No breakdowns.

Averaged about 27MPG the entire trip. Driving fast.

One thing that I did learn is that the small screw on the wiper board cover, thats a pita to get to if you
forget
to snug it up is the ground for the wiper board.
you'll need it snugged up when it rains or you'll have intermittent wipers when you dont want them
and you wont like them.
