I recently purchased a hardtop for my 92 conv. Everything is fine except that it doesn't line up perfect. The drivers side window bites into the weatherstripping and the passenger window has a gap which would cause leaking. What is the easiest way to fix this problem? I don't want to adjust the windows only, because then when i take it off the convertible top won't line up. What do i have to do and where should i take the car to be fixed?
I just finished getting my hardtop perfect. You need to find a happy medium for the two tops. I never plan to run my cloth top again so I adjusted my windows just for the hardtop. Adjusting the windows is easy. It's very time consuming for two tops though. Just go to a windsheild shop or a body shop. They can find an adjustment for both.

Just wondering why do you have a Convertable then if you don't want to use the soft top? You going to take the hard top off evertime you want the top down? That thing is Heavy!! I bought a hard top for my 92. The hard top came off an 96 CE I installed it and I have a little air leak on the drivers side on the highway I guess I got lucky then.
I put my hardtop on for the winter. I really enjoy the extra stiffness it provides. There's no cowl shake, feels solid as a rock. I just took it off 2
weeks ago cuz it got to 60 here. Now I get the enjoyment of sun and wind on a nice day but have to put up with the decreased structural stability all the time. Been doin' it for 3 years now so I've gotten used to it, but its always rather disappointing what a difference it is to drive without the hardtop.
Been thinking lots about the 2 braces R-D Racing offer. Looks like it might
add back that extra strength and provide a more enjoyable hard-topless ride.
Anybody out there with a convertible and hardtop that also has the braces? I'd really like to hear if the change is as good as puttin' the hardtop back on.
Try adjusting the rear locating pins on the hardtop itself. What I am talking about is where the two long thin bolts go through in the back, the locating bolt that the thin bolt goes through has a minor amount of adjustability. Next up would be the manner in which you bolt down the "B" pillar brackets right behind the seats. Loosen everything up, then starting with the "B" pillar bracket that is on the side with a window gap, tighten the vertical bolts on that bracket first, then snug up the header bolt on that same side, then on theat same side snug up the rear stancion bolt by the back glass, then do the opposite side in the same order.
NW92roadster I would go with at leas one if the braces R-D Racing makes. I think in the future I'm going to get the one behind the seats. PS I know what you mean when the hard top comes off it feels different.

I bought the convertible because it has better lines than the coupe. The hardtop looks even better than the cloth top. If there was a fixed hardtop version I would have bought it. I don't even plan to remove my hardtop. I've have recently for adjustments but not for the drop top experience. I always had the cloth top up and windows up. So the hardtop is the same. I have my convertible top folded in the corner of my garage. That things weighs around 50lbs. I also knew that the convertible also has more bracing than the coupe so with my hardtop i'm also way stiffer than my friend's coupe.
So I bought a convertible because of it's stiffness, lines, and looks with the hardtop, not for actually using it:D.
