Unfortunately, I don't have time or money for a rebuild at the moment. I'm considering selling like is and looking into an 85+ vette later on like summer. I haven't decided yet tho. For now, it will sit in my driveway and look pretty.

Pull the pan off and take a better look.
Take up 2 hours of your free time to do that.
Spend that easily here on C4 every week.
Your car dropped down in value real quick with the new engine knock.
People wont give you much $ for it as is now.
Fix it, then sell it. Worth more running right and good Oil Pressure.
People with smarts know what to look for and avoid when buying a Vette.
No oil pressure and engine knock, people go away quickly or offer just $200-$500. Its an 84 too not a 2011 Vette. Big difference in value.

I completely agree - knocking engine is a pass for 99% of the people out there - unless it's dirt cheap... If you caught it before driving on it then I'd try and get it running again.

IF you're really strapped for cash - I'd look locally for a set of king rod and main bearings (about $35-40 for the pair) or summit has a cheap set SUM-172000 / SUM-171000 ($13/ea - $26/pr + ship). - the oil pan gasket is a rubber gasket that is (somewhat) re-usable and I'd almost recommend upgrading the oil pump to a HV unit and a steel sleeved oil pump driveshaft to take care of any loose cam bearing clearances that you're not correcting. About 4 hours worth of easy work in the driveway on jack-stands and less than $100 in parts (bearings, oil, pump, plastigauge, etc.) and you should be driving again.

Dont give up yet! If you pull the pan and the crank looks OK rolling in a set of bearings will only cost 100$ If you want to go a step further pull the engine and put a reground crank kit in it for around 200-250$. Im bettin your ride aint dead, just needs a little TLC.

#1 rule when doing an intake job on a sbc- always change the oil & filter. Any gasket material that gets into the oil will tear up your bearings. I always take 2qts of oil & flush out the intake valley before I put the intake back on.

The 350 Shortblock and the Blue tag ZF with McCloude hardware and clutch wont last long.
Both very good buys.
C4 guys have their tax return money in hand now.
Wife let me have some of ours.
Tempting. Both are deals.
