Default Engine Part

Hey Everyone,

I debated on whether to put this post here or in the parts section, but decided here because it's more the actual name of the part that I'm looking for as I don't know how else to describe it.

What I've got is an 85 Corvette, L98 engine. Between the throttle body and the valve cover there is a metal air tube that gets secured to the valve cover itself when the bolts for the valve cover are put in. I can only think of it as an air tube, metal air line, etc... but I'm not finding it anywhere. The problem with the current one is that the metal was busted open at some point so there's a good sized hole in it.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what they named that part? The other question would be, if I can't find that part, any suggestions on what I should use instead? I have some ideas on what I could do, but would like to hear what the best approach would be.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Regards,

Vision

Later TPI engines just have a suitably shaped 1 piece rubber hose ( instead of your solid line with hoses at each end )
that was not secured anywhere ; followed same path and just sat next to rocker cover

The hose is the PCV supply line

- for a temp fix, just run a piece of rubber hose - not sure of the size though. if you want an original part, start searching fleabay, or other used parts vendors.

Thanks for the info. I was just about to ask where I could find it as part stores around here are telling me to go back to the dealer to get the part.

Vetteoz, did you have to get one at some point? If so, where did you get it from?

Thanks again for the help!

Might be used only this far down the track
OEM part # below

The 1985-1988 crankcase breather tube that is connected to the throttle body below the throttle position sensor and then to the valve cover is also replaceable with part number 10055872.
The # 10055872 hose was used on 1989-1991 cars and allowed greater flow than the earlier design.
