Default Difference between LT1 and LT4 heads?

As the subject states, what's the difference? How can I tell the two apart?

On my LT4 I can see the raised "LT4" cast into the heads by looking thru the oil fill. I assume there's a matching cast in the other head.

Okay, thanks, I just needed to know how to tell them apart. Are they Cast Iron or Aluminum?

Aluminum. All LT1/LT4/LS1/LS6 heads are Aluminum.

Yes the LT1 in the Impala SS, 9C1 Caprices (police car) and Roadmasters were cast iron heads. Also the L99 4.3L V8 was a reverse flow cooling motor with iron heads.

So there were absolutely NO LT4 heads made in cast iron? Ever?

I know theses questions may sound stupid, but I have my reasons for them.

No Iron LT4 heads but out of the box some say the iron LT1 heads flow better than the aluminum LT1 heads.
