I currently own a 85 vette with stock exhuast. I want something that is loud but yet sounds nice and not like some rusty pos. This has been driving me crazy for months and I wanna do this right. Wat do you think would be the best for me?????
ive tried them all on my 86, flowmaster first and your ears couldnt take it inside the car then dynomax y pipe, converter and mufflers and the resonence inside was terrible, ended up with dynomax hi flow pipes and converter along with GM performance mufflers and got a nice deep sound with hi flow also
On my 383 I have headers going back to a magnaflow high flow Cat converter, then muffler eliminators. No mufflers at all, and the sound is loud, but not to loud. One thing nice about doing this exhaust is if you think its to loud, you can always add mufflers later..WW
Here is a video of my car at idle after the new motor and the new exhaust . The exhaust part is near the end..
yea that sounds damn good i like that rumble it has!! will my 350 sound that same????
It should have the same tone and close to the same rumble, maybe not quite as load, but I have a mild cam that gives it that nice lope. Its also idleing a little faster then normal because its still cold..The best part is if you like it this way, you save the price of mufflers.......WW
I had the factory headers, gutted main cat and Targa ZR1 tip mufflers on it, and it sounded really nice, got compliments fairly often, no droning inside, aggressive at high RPMS and moderate/mild at idle.

We at ARH now make a header system for the C4. The system runs all the way to just in front of the rear mufflers and is available in 1 3/4' or in a stepped version which goes from 1 3/4' to 1 7/8'. Check them out on our website http://www.americanracingheaders.com/C4_Corvette.html.
Also, there is a group buy going on in the WTB section. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM
