How to change oil switch module?

I have a 1991 Corvette 5.7 Engine 6 speed all stock I am trying to change the oil switch module. There is like a plastic top I have to get of to get it and I can't seem to fine a tool to fit down to unscrew it. Can someone tell me how to change the oil switch module?

Easier if you take the dist out for better access to switch

Unless you have very small hands removing the distributor is almost the only way. Both the switch and the oil pressure sender are a very fine thread, easy to cross thread, be careful.

Can I change this without taking out the distributor reason being I don't want to have to re time the engine if I take out the distributor.

Is there is special tool to take this out without takeing the distributor?

There is a special socket, looks like a funny 12 point that has been seriously rounded inside. I do not think it will help one bit in trying to replace the switch without removing the distributor. You will not alter the timing if you simply lift the distributor then set it back after you change the switch. Just stay away from the starter and you will be fine.
