Need to add catalytic converters

I am looking at a 95 with Stainless Works headers and B&B 2.5 inch exhaust. It does not have cats installed and my state will require them. Do the cats install between these two pieces or as part of the Stainless Works system? Will the Magnaflow universal work or do I need the cats that are shaped? Is this likely a bolt on system that I can do myself?

Sorry for the elementary questions. I imagine someone out there has a similar set-up. I don't want to have to sink $1k or more into this just to get past inspection.

does your state allow "49 state" cats, or is it California car which require a CARB approved cat? makes a big difference as to the number of cats / styles/ manufacturers available .

Thanks for the reply. It will simply be a visual inspection to make sure the cats are in place. They will not even check at the pipes.
