Default rear control arm not lining up right?

When replacing my U-joints and rear wheel bearings I had some trouble getting the bottom most control arm back where it connects to the wheel assembly. It is the arm that runs parallel to the half shaft, I had to push it forward (toward the front of the car) and hammer it up in to get it into it's slot so the bolt would run through.

This seems wrong... do I have a bigger problem like a bent frame or something? or is it supposed to be forward when jacked up? It was the same on both sides.

Got a picture of it installed?

Did you have both lowers out at the same time?
Maybe they are switched, or you tweaked the mounting of the eccentric.

I took a pic but I can't find my transfer cable and I think it is at work so I should be able to upload tomorrow.

It is the bottom most control arm that runs from the bottom of the differential pumpkin to the wheel bearing housing (parallel with halfshaft).

The mount where it pivots on both sides are not lined and perfectly parallel with the "batwing." the wheel side is about 3 inches forward.

I'll post up pics tomorrow.

just for giggles try turning them over.... not end for end just flip them upside down and see if they fit better .

That goes one way and one way only. The hub end has an angle and it does not fit the other way. Think outside the box

I seem to recall that I had to push mine toward the front as well, but not 3". Try jacking up the hub itself so it's not at its low point. It will be a tight fit into the hub.

Thats the part all right. I guess I'll try flipping it but I never unbolted the whole thing, just the hub part so I could take out the U-Joint.

mine did the same thing, get someone to help you, get a small trolley jack under the hub, by moving the trolley jack backwards and forwards you can line it up better, while your help moves the jack tap the arm in with a soft hammer. Worked for me
