Anyone know what size I need for my stock block 85? Jegs & summit have them, but prior dealings with their techs have me hesitant to ask them. Thanks, John

I just made my own using one of the old head bolts. Grind a channel on two sides of the bolt along it's axis. Works like a charm and cost me $0.00.

Sorry, but not sure of the thread size off the top of my head.

Did you use a dremmel to make it? I've done some grinding on some intake parts, but I'd be worried about jackin' up the threads in the block that way. Obviously it worked for you. Interesting.

you can get a whole kit of multiple sizes at sears for $50, very useful tool to have around over the years

I used a bench grinder to do it but there is no reason that a dremel wouldn't work. I'll dig up a pic I you need it.

For the head bolts? It's 7/16-14.

Yes, the head bolts. Thanks boys. I may not have been looking in the right place at sears, probably should've asked.

I have a set, must be 20 years old, came from Summitt. Best $10.00 I ever spent.

I looked at summit && jegs, and they are a little more expensive now. Go figure. So muffin, I won't need to lift my engine to get the new cam in? I've pulled the stocker out to the member, and it does seem that if you maneuver it right, the journals and such will miss the member. Just not ready yet time-wise.

Ten bucks don't buy what it used to.
