Yeah its me again... Does anyone have their supercharger sticking out and resting right on or above the driver side shock?? My s/c setup makes the supercharger stick out, I was just wondering if thats normal. And i also have no idea where the alternator goes. Here's a pic of an 87 with a Vortech V2 Si-Trim blower with a Blowerworks bracket. It should give you an idea how the alternator should be installed.

Greg at Blowerworks.net is probably your best resource for supercharging info for C4s.

Bracket supercharger and alternator are on. Running the oil lines today and i might be able to start or finish the tube/piping to and from the throttle body. Post pictures later tonight.

Thanks for all the help and pictures guys! Shows what a great community it is.

A couple of questions:

What is the diameter of the blower pulley and step-up ratio of blower (I don't know if its a V1 or V2).

Max engine rpm?

These items will determine the max impeller rpm and maximum expected boost level. You might want to start with a bigger blower pulley around 3.5" diameter for about 8 psi @ 5,000 rpm or so, with a V2 S or Si-trim (You may want to start with an even larger pulley to keep the boost down).

A reduced rev-limit is a good idea to help limit boost and rpm if you have a smaller pulley.

What are you planning to use for spark and fuel control? Several ways to go depending upon budget and preferences. Don't try and run it hard with factory tuning.

Don't forget:
Colder plugs
Appropriate fuel pump(s).

Its a V-1 blower. I don't know the size of the pulley yet. I'm not racing with this motor. this is a mock up. It'll be driven around town for a month or so. I'm going to try add fuel by adjusting my fuel pressure. I already have bigger injectors and the car runs rich as it is. I have changed my timing for 175 shot of nitrous i have ran at the track plenty of times. The motor has high mileage so I'm not worried about to much pressure, it'll blow past the rings. This motor is a mock up, I know the piston could melt or crack because of the cast pistons. Ill go measure the pulley size. I don't want high boost for this mock up.
Thanks

Stock crank pulley is 7.2" diameter.

So at 5,000 rpm with 3.45 step-up, you should have approx. 38,380 rpm at the impeller. This should be worth around 8 psi.

Just so you are aware, bigger injectors do not ensure sufficient fueling. Even if the chip is already tuned for the injectors, some special programming tecniques are required to avoid overflow and to achieve sufficient injector pw without limitation.

Keep the revs in check until you're sure you have enough fuel.

Dual Zr1 fuel pumps also, Are you talking about hooking up a fuel management system to account for the extra air coming in??

No. I'm not talking about an fmu. My comments are related to fueling via the ecm programming by exploiting the power enrichment AFR target value. This can work, but only to a point where the pw calculation overflows as a fuction of increasing rpm, mass flow and richening AFR targets.

An fmu will work despite the risk of limited pw due to the increase in fuel pressure, which will result in increased flow for a given pulse width. Fmu's just aren't very flexible and don't have any compensation for changing charge air temperature.

If tuned for worst case cold air conditions, they tend to go a little rich as the temperature rises and density decreases.

I need to know what size pulley on the supercharger would give me like 5psi, I'm currently running a 3.25 and its way to much boost for my stock internals.
