I have a 1995 C4 and am in the process of modifying for track...have removed all unnecessary vacuum devices, A/C, unnecessary wiring....My problem is that now it Starts fine, idles for 10 seconds, idles down and then stalls....will restart...repeat. Driving me mad....anyone have any ideas??
I put a new fuel pressure regulator vacuum line on and still having the issue. All the engine sensors related to fuel and exhaust are still in place, all temp/pressure sensors still in place (except air conditioning). EGR valve, secondary air injection and all related plumbing have been removed.
With this info and taking into consideration that it starts and will idle for a few seconds does anybody have any idea what I could be missing??
Thanks- Dante
..... Have you checked fuel pressure ? What does it do when the engine stops running ? Can you hear the fuel pump running after it dies ? Any codes ? SES light on ? It sounds like the ECM may not realize that the engine is running and is shutting the fuel pump off ... check the ESC module plug too !
haven't checked the fuel pressure, but am confused about the ESC module plug you mentioned...is it referred to as the Knock Sensor on the '95?
that is the only thing- other than the distributor- that I am seeing in the manual that seems to have anything to do with electronic spark.
The entire dash is removed- no lights left- and currently can't read codes,so unfortunately they can't help at the moment.
It is a Vin P not Vin J car if that makes any difference.. LT1 V8
