Default Simple Performance Mods

With the exception of Intake and Exhaust. I'm looking for recommendations for some simple performance mods I can do to my 91 L98. It has stock injector, so I know that's one area I can improve. What other options short of pulling the motor out.

Bigger injectors wont give you any more power.

Intake and exhausts are usually the first and best things to change.

All the air foils, fancy coils, wires, K&N air filters, couplers IAT sensors all that nonsense is just that. Nonsense. Maybe all of them combined may make a teeny bit of difference but doubtful

If anything some say removing the frisbee on the water pump and cutting the airbox lid help some. Get it in perfect tune if it isnt then save for some real mods.

Make sure everyhing is 100%. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires and fuel filter. If you have over 100K, replacing the injectors with stock sized or slightly bigger, 24 lbs, can help. Once that is all good I'd try underdrive pulleys or 1.6 roller rockers next.

the best things I've done to my 87 127,000 , was to install Bosch design III injectors from FIC, a vender here, CompCams 1.6 roller tip rockers w/new springs sold by Ecklers, another vender here, and while I had it apart, all new valve seals, putting intake and exhuast seals on all valves. That got it back to good running, a good power band, and good mpg. and got rid of that 'startup' smoke. I had good compression to start with. If you dont have the good compression , you need to fix that first or everything else is wasted. The venders prices were better than than manufactors and I didnt have to do a bunch of research to make sure things would do what I wanted. once you have a good base, the other mods ,air intake/exhuast, will work better. IMHO

I agree a good tune up and 1.6 roller rockers would be a good start.

years ago i managed to make a 1990 6spd car run a 13.1 without getting into the heads and cam.

headers, cat back. ported stock tpi, k&n air filter or tpis foam, cut filter lid, TB coolant bypass, waterpump frisbee and cheapo 1.5 aluminum roller rockers, 1.6's should be worth even more on the stock cam
