Transmission losing power

I am having trouble with my transmission in my 92 vette. It has 130,000 on it. When I'm driving everything shifts fine. If I punch it off the line the tires will hook up and rocket the car or burn out. If I punch the gas while I am already doing like 25 mph then the engine revs like it normally did but the power isn't getting to the tires. Is this a failing trans or a bad torque converter or maybe an electrical issue? It started last year on a hot august day when I was racing around with a guy in a lambo. The car had been running hot... Around 225. Any ideas?

Does the engine overrev as if the trans is slipping?

No the car revs like it did when it would worked normally. It doesn't over rev or anything.

I would say torque converter, when mine went bad it would do okay cool but once heated it would slip like crazy.
