The LT1 first appeared in the F-bodies in 1993. I thought soon after that, the Vette went with the LS1. Hence my question.

1992: Chevy introduces the Gen II LT1 350 in the Corvette...300hp...
1993: Gen II LT1 availability is expanded to include the all-new 4th generation Camaro Z28 and Firebird Trans Am. Slightly detuned from Corvette specs, the F-body LT1 is still good for 275hp...and 325#/ft...
1996: LT4 offered as an option in Vettes...
1997: Gen III LS1...replaces all Gen II Corvette applications...All-aluminum design...
1998: ...Gen III LS1 invades Camaro & Firebird engine bays...
