My '95 LT1 has reached 85 mph in the 1/8 times were in the middle 8 second range.
LS1 Camaros are about the same as our LT1's, but every stock one I've raced, I've beat.
With teh six speeds it comes down to driver skill.

I have a friend that has a 1998 SS (now he has a CE LT4). We raced many times on the 1/8 and the street. The LS1 pulls harder on the top end compared to my LT1. In the 1/8, we were almost always dead even. On the street, it was even until about 100, he had a car length by 110. However, I had the distinct weight advantage off the line. He ran consistent 8.88-8.90 @ 81-82 mph. His only mod at the time was a Flowmaster exhaust. All of our runs were on street tires.

hopefully i should be alright i ran consistent 8.50 last year before i changed my convertor and gear. need a custom chip know anyone who could burn me one for a resonable price
