Default Warning: Stay Away From Dynaspark

Just an FYI, sent one back for repairs and it came back the same way, slop in the bearing and when you spun it, it sounded like a card in bike spokes.. So they sent me another one, and after installing it, its spittin and sputtering just like the first one did before it started sending a 16 code, i'm sure it will start to send a 16 code after a few more miles. I should have listened to the wife and daughter after I got the (rebuilt) one. They said go get a OEM I found one on Amazon for 351 plus 13 for 2 day shipping.. I'd like to have it to go watch the NHRA next weedend..

Msd optisparks are even worse, along with most of their products nowadays. No quality control anymore. Just bought the name for a bunch of made-in-china quality parts.

Def. Go oem. However you have to be careful there also. Some acdelco parts have been contracted to parts houses overseas.

In that case you are better off w a 60k mile used part than a new one

Try the New and Improved Optispark from ChandlerMotorsports.com

I replaced my opti again this past January with one of their quality units. I would recommend the lifetime warranty model.

Quality unit!

They only give a 60 day warranty for a 93 with a GenII, plus there using a china made sensor. thanks though

Should've bombed china vs. Iraq in '03. I would have been happy, pulling a trigger over there

I thought I was the only one that encountered what you did. Sent mine in for repair and it came back with a very loud bearing. Not only that, but my engine would not start. So they sent me a brand new unit. The bearing was good but the engine still wouldn't start... I installed my old used stock opti spark and the engine started right away, and runs like a charm. Their units were great up to now, so what happened to Dynaspark??

Bob Hogan sent me my $188 for the rebuild back, said I could keep all the parts. Great, can't use anything from what I have, since my engine just wont run with their units...
