I've owned 2 1990 models both with 3:07 gears, and 19-21 on the highway is what I got with them and 17-18 city. For me to believe someone is getting 26 - 31 as I've seen quoted here, I'd have to see it to believe it. I'm not saying people are lying, just bad math calculations.
Totaly agree With a mixture of driving I get around 18 and this is more open road then city. On the last trip on the stuff they call fuel now I at one point got to 20.3. And the right foot seldom if ever goes to the floor.
I get 28-32MPG @ 55-65 mph on the highway if I set the cruise control there and don't get the urge to pass anyone.
Every C4 is different.
That's it??
Im at 30-34mpg @ 55-65 mph in the convertible
I have
2.59 gears
Hydraulic lock-up converter (converted trans) w/shift kit
Split-spoke C6 wheels... 18's front 19's rears (huge difference in the car)
no pre-cats, gutted main cat, targa style mufflers...
I'm going to have the motor rebuilt... lets see how far that drops it
at normal highway speeds, i was getting just under 23mpg with my 90 (auto with perf axle). my average city/highway was probably around 19. i had a fresh tuneup, bosch 3's, etc. my 90 was a frickin' dog compared to my 85...
