My question is: After a preliminary test fitting, it looks like the radiator will be a snug fit WITHOUT the rubber bumpers. Do I need SOMETHING in there to isolate the radiator from the shroud? (I'm suspecting yes)
At $600 for a radiator, and $20 a gallon for Evans NPG, I sure don't want to wear a hole in the Rad and let all the stuff out!
Cool thing is: There's no gap between the Rad and the Condenser for crap to collect!
Which model of Griffin did you go with? I assume it fits the 96' cars?? Also, what made you go with Griffin over others like Ron Davis, and Be Cool???
Thanks!
It came included with the Evans ( www.evanscooling.com ) Corvette cooling system. THAT included a larger diameter higher flow water pump with vapor bypass, evans coolant, replacement radiator neck, and 5 gallons of Evans NPG coolant.
they're showing a 85-89 kit and a 90-91 kit, but nothing newer. Something to do with the LT-1's reverse cooling perhaps?
IIRC it was a 2 row 1.25" tube radiator...it's Good for 600 hp, which is a TON more than the motor will ever generate.
When I had the motor work done, I put a Be-Cool in mine (it's almost twice the depth of the stock radiator) with a new water-pump and opti-spark. It runs 170 degrees all day long 7 months a year and around 200 in the summer months, and that's in Central Florida. :)

Looks like you had to replumb the AC...yes? Did you use something to isolate the radiator from the shroud, or is it just sitting in place?
We didn't have to do anything different with the AC, but had to shave quite a bit of rubber from inside the shroud to get it to fit. We also had to cut out a piece from one of the corners as well. It was a pain in the butt but well worth it...
