Default Ram air

The other day I was looking for ways to get more air into my air box and came up with something, I am sure 30 of you guys have already done it but here it is any way. In Texas we must run a front license plate so I drilled a bunch of small holes in my plate and the area behind the plate. I then drilled holes on the inside of the bumper so the air could pass strait through. In town driving or leaving a light you really cant tell in the seat of your pants but on the road when passing I could tell a diffrence. Do they sell anything you can put in your license plate square that is like a funnel and will ram air strait into your air filter?

Not a good idea for So texas...

That 'scoop' tends to ram air into the intake,. and water and no way to stop it.

Seem a couple engines killed by sucking water up thru the "ram-air" duct in the license box...

works better in Az or So Cal.

Unless you are driving fast through a good bit of sitting water then there is nothing to worry about. The water is not going to get in there unless its pushed in. I'm in southeastern Louisiana. I've actually driven slowly through flooded streets where I could feel the water on my floor boards. At least 8" deep and no water was taken in through my license intake. Something I'm not likely to ever repeat. :o

I've had the AO Ram Air on my daily driver for several years. I've also driven many times through serious down pours where I could not see the road. Never any problems there either.

I've heard stories of some LS1 Vararam cars damaging engines but even in those cases they were said to be driving in over a foot of water with some speed. Not very smart.

I've never heard of anyone with an LT1 AO ram air car damaging an engine. Are these forum members? I'd like to hear how it happened. My guess is they were driving through a lot of sitting water with some speed.
