I must have missed this post last time through. Thanks for the links! I just replaced the clutch/pressure plate last spring so I know it is still good. Im not concerned about noise or engagement since this is a track only car.
Do you have a part number for the ARP bolts?
yikes, at $170 for an lt1 flywheel and $80 more to turn it down you've paid for at least half of a fidanza
when i did this trick junkyards were selling lt1 flywheels for $40 and or autoparts stores were selling them for about double that

Check on CamaroZ28.com in the parts section. I've seen lots of them for sale cheap over there.
I posted on LS1LT1.com and within 1/2 hour a guy parting a '93 LT1 10 min down the road from me offered me his for $40. Off to a good start! Now to get it resurfaced and balanced. On the second link you gave me they said it was difficult to get the LT1 flywheel external balanced, but it was posted here that it is difficult to have the cast crank neutral balanced. Which is the better way to go?
Edit: The link says it is hard to get the single mass to match the balance of the dual mass. If I am having the whole thing balanced anyway it should be simple to get it to be externally balanced correct?

Yes it should be no problem to get it externally balanced since the LT1 flywheel already has the external weight in the right spot. When I balanced my motor internally they had to grind the weight off.
