93- lt-1 starter
I need help, I am looking for a high powered starter for my 1993 LT-1, 6 sp. Vette. I purchased a Powermaster 9502 , it Don't FIT.. With the pinion gear lined up in the flywheel housing cover "hole" I have about 1/2" GAP at the top where the starter and engine block should attach..I would need about 1/2" of shims and longer bolts to make it work. Any help out there ??? :

After lots of Pictures and E-Mails ,With Summitt Racing Tech section , they believe its maybe a Transmission thing . 6 sp VS Auto ... I have a 6sp . They suggested to use a GM starter.. Maybe they are Right..

I chose to do a rebuild on my stock starter a few years back. Still works fine.

The factory starter on my 92 6-spd is a gear reduction style that has never given me a moments trouble. I think you'd have to be running something like 15:1 compression before you would run into problems.
