i have a chevy truck with that i think is the 4L60e tranny (hope i got this number combo right) flooring it from a dead stop it has no slip
shifts all the way into OD. but when i slow down and then try to accelerate again, it revs to the limit like the tranny is slipping seriously!
i had the filter and ALL the fluid changed 2 weeks ago, and the problem got better for a bit. is there some type of adjustment that can be made....some check valve that can be changed? a solenoid going bad or something?
help....i dont wanna spend $1300 for a new tranny....that just means i have to push the stroker for the vette back even further!!!!
thanks all!
Re: corvette / non-corvette tranny problem (tarheelracer)
one can only hope.....but i because it improved immensely when i had the fluid flushed and the filter changed, i am guessing a check valve.....anyone wanna back me up on this????

Re: corvette / non-corvette tranny problem (85_togo)
Yes, 4L60E in 95. Not a lot of problems that I have heard with that trans that year, 96 was another issue. How many miles and any towing?
Buddy had a 94 with same trans and it had some issues, not quite like yours (some funny shifting and overheating) but flush fixed it up so far (one year). Shop believed it was a sticky valve somewhere and told him not to drop the valve body unless it starts acting up again.
Stay away from transmission chains like AAMCO and the like. See if you can find a well respected independant to check it out. If it ends up the worst and it's rebuild time, I would look into a GM SERTA trans as an alternative if you are keeping the truck.
Re: corvette / non-corvette tranny problem (NoWorries)
canyon, i am probably gonna take it to trans-matic (the place seery took his vette) and have them look at it....but i might want to beef it up a little bit. what should i do? we can put a shift kit in it later, but while they got it out, what should i have them do? upgrade the stahl converter? gimme some ideas.....anyone, anyone,
bueler............. bueler.................bueler?
