I am a C5 driver, but my father just bought a 1993 Coupe. It didn't have any keyless-entry fobs, so he bought a "refurbished" one.
I know that there is information in the manual, but are there any "tricks?" He is very old-fashioned, and is not very technical (he does not have an ATM card, and he refuses to pay-at-the-pump), so I want to see if there are any suggestions to simplify the process for him.
Been awhile since I programed mine to work on both cars, I'll have to go read the book, but it was faily easy and I'm a little technology challenged :D
I bought a brand new one from the dealer, and tried it out- didnt work after a million programs. Took the thing back to the dealer and tried another one. Worked the first time. Even more likely to be the case with a refurbished one. Give Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevrolet a call. I'll bet that he can get you a brand new one for the price you payed for your refurb. :yesnod:
