a larger TB wont help until you port some things open(heads, intake), the Granatelli had a good price (i thought) in a ZIP catalog i saw. But i have no experience with them.
I'm NOT speaking from experience, but I've heard the Granatelli MAF is complete waste of $$. Don't believe the claims.
I've been told a 52mm TB probably won't do much until you start making mods like a cam, heads, etc... I'm going to put a 52mm TB on mine this summer, but I'm not expecting big gains.
IMHO, save your money and do gears, I did and I love it. 4.10 gears have to be the best thing I did to my Vette. I should have done it before the cat back.

Re: Granatelli MAF & LT4 (sherpabob)
If you read some of the experiences in the Tech Tips section. Some of the guys are claiming actual dyno proven HP increases. Take a look on eBay, you'll find them for about $270
There is a new LS-6 Mass Air meter that is calibrated for the LT-1/LT-4 cars availible, I believe that Granitelli makes this. I have a friend in the area that owns a shop called Speed Inc. they have a chassis dyno and the smallest gain they have seen with one of the LS-6 meters is 8rwhp on a close to stock bolt on car and as much as 14rwhp on a 396 stroker motor car. I believe these sell for under $175 (Im not positive though) give them a call at 847 891-0767 and ask for Tom or Larry, they can give you all the info you need.
I picked up one of these yesterday from Larry @ Speed Inc. Going to test it at the track next Sun.
from what I understand they are the only ones who carry this MAF right now.
Great guys to do business with.
My last dyno run we hooked up to a vacuum source on the intake and measured 1.5 inches at 6400 rpm on my stock LT4 intake tract except K+N and cut lid. Dyno operator said that on race motors they like to see .5 or less but 1.5 is certainly acceptable-but if a MAF would help with no negatives then...
