Default Shorty Headers for an L98

Does anyone know what shorty headers are available for an 1989 L98 without any AIR/Smog?

What cylinder heads does your car have?
GM part number?
The bolts may fit but if the ports don't match up you won't be getting the flow you're looking for.

I'm putting in a 1972 400 using either the original 997 heads or the L98 113's

About any header that fits the car should work the ports are small.
Some like using shorties for an Lt1 on the L98.
Check with Summit and see what they have.

Keith if you use the stock iron heads with straight plugs the stock headers will need dimpling to clear the plugs I thought of using the 113's on my 400 small block but I think the fire ring on the head gaskets would hit the coolant passages in the heads If you have a set of 400 head gaskets and your stock 113's maybe you could measure and see if the piston holes fit.I would be interested to know.My heads are still bolted to my motor I took out. Thanks,Steve

When I was looking to get a set of headers I read dont buy shorties they are not worth the gain of 5 HP+ go with the full lenght headers.

The shorties dont flow that much more than the stock exauhst manifoilds.

I lucked out The ownner of the Local NAPA store gave me a set of Melrose full lenght headers.
